Paul Harris Fellowship

The Paul Harris fellow distinguished recognition was established in 1957 to show appreciation for and encourage substantial contributions to what was then the Foundation’s only program, Rotary Foundation Fellowships for Advanced Study, the precursor to Ambassadorial Scholarships.  Paul Harris Fellows are individuals recognized by Rotary for substantial donations made in support the Rotary Foundation Annual Programs Fund.
Anyone who contributes, or in whose name is contributed, a gift of $1,000 or more to the Annual Programs Fund may become a Paul Harris Fellow. Each new Paul Harris Fellow receives a commemorative certificate, a Paul Harris Fellow pin, and a medallion. Donors are eligible for Paul Harris Fellow recognition when their cumulative giving reaches $1,000 USD.
For additional gifts totalling $1,000 USD or more, a Paul Harris Fellow ...
  • Is recognized as a Multiple Paul Harris Fellow.
  • May also choose to honour someone else as a Paul Harris Fellow with their Foundation Recognition Points, formerly called "available credit" .
  • Is eligible to receive a Multiple Paul Harris Fellow pin with additional stones.

Sustaining Membership

A Rotary Foundation Sustaining Member (formerly called a Paul Harris Sustaining Member) is a person who contributes $100 USD or more per year to the Foundation’s Annual Programs Fund.

Without sustained support of the Annual Programs Fund, the programs of The Rotary Foundation cannot happen. With contributions of $100 from every member every year, Rotary could nearly double its efforts to help needy people the world over, supporting the continued growth of programs.
All gifts given through the Sustaining Member program go to the Annual Programs Fund and are eligible for and count cumulatively toward the Foundation’s various recognition programs, including recognition as a Paul Harris Fellow after $1,000 USD has been contributed.
Each and every Sustaining Member gift to the Rotary Foundation is a gift of hope to those less fortunate. Every gift truly makes a difference in someone's life. 100% of the money donated to the Foundation is used in programs. Funds contributed in any given year are invested for three years before being spent on programs. This ensures that all contributed dollars go directly to programs; only investment earnings are used to pay administrative costs.
